Our private boat tours offer an intimate and personalized way to experience La Parguera and its world-famous Bioluminescent Bay, away from crowds and at your own pace. Designed for guests who value space, flexibility, and authenticity, these tours deliver a calm, immersive experience on the water.
We operate two USCG-certified private vessels, accommodating a maximum of 12 and 14 guests, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere with attentive, hands-on service. Guests may choose to swim in the Bioluminescent Bay or enjoy the glow from the comfort of the boat, depending on preference.
As you cruise through La Parguera, you’ll pass the area’s iconic floating homes, a rare waterfront community found in only a few places in the world. You’ll also see the Aerostato, a historic navigation balloon structure originally used for coastal and military observation, now a distinctive landmark marking the entrance to the bay and reflecting the region’s maritime history.
When night falls, the water comes alive with bioluminescence created by dinoflagellates—microscopic organisms that emit a blue-green glow when the water is disturbed. The intensity of the glow varies naturally from night to night based on moon phase, tides, rainfall, and water temperature, making every tour a unique experience.

Puerto Rico is home to three bioluminescent bays: Vieques, Fajardo, and La Parguera. Among them, La Parguera stands apart for its freedom, flexibility, and depth of experience.
La Parguera is the only bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico where swimming is allowed, giving guests the rare opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the glow rather than observing it from afar. Its open-water layout and surrounding mangrove system create a dynamic ecosystem that feels alive, changing subtly each night with natural conditions.
Worldwide, there are only five known bioluminescent bays, including locations in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and Japan. At certain times of the year, ocean currents can carry dinoflagellates beyond the bay, causing nearby waters and beaches to glow for a few nights—an extraordinary reminder of how rare and powerful this natural phenomenon truly is.
For travelers seeking the most immersive, flexible, and authentic bioluminescent experience in Puerto Rico, La Parguera is not just different—it’s deeper.
